Reveal a flawless complexion with the best skin toners for all skin types
Welcome to my beauty blog, where I give you the latest of what’s new and fresh in the world of beauty products. Skin toner may not be the most hyped-up product, but it’s definitely a skincare essential! As someone who has struggled with acne in the past, I can attest to the effectiveness of toners in giving me clear and glowing skin. Let’s dive into what toners exactly do and some of my personal favorites.
What is a skin toner and what does it do?
A skin toner is a liquid skincare product that helps to remove any remaining impurities after cleansing. It also helps to balance the skin’s pH levels, which can prevent breakouts and excessive oil production. A toner can also provide hydration and prepare the skin for better absorption of other skincare products, such as serums and moisturizers.
The different types of toners
- Alcohol-based toners: These are the traditional types of toners that contain alcohol, which can be very drying to the skin. They are best used for those with very oily skin.
- Hydrating toners: These are toners that contain moisturizing ingredients, such as glycerin and hyaluronic acid, that can help to hydrate the skin. These are best for those with dry or combination skin.
- Exfoliating toners: These toners contain ingredients, such as AHAs and BHAs, that can help to exfoliate the skin and unclog pores. These are best for those with acne-prone skin or those who struggle with blackheads.
My favorite toners
- Thayers Witch Hazel Toner: This alcohol-free toner contains witch hazel, which can help to tighten pores and soothe the skin. It also has aloe vera and rose water, which provide hydration and a pleasant scent.
- The Ordinary Glycolic Acid 7% Toning Solution: This exfoliating toner contains glycolic acid, which can help to brighten the skin and even out its texture. It’s also very affordable compared to other glycolic acid toners on the market.
- Paula’s Choice Skin Perfecting 2% BHA Liquid Exfoliant: Another exfoliating toner, this one contains salicylic acid, which can penetrate deep into the pores to unclog them. It also contains green tea extract, which has anti-inflammatory properties for those with sensitive skin.
Overall, a skin toner is a product that shouldn’t be overlooked in your skincare routine. It can make all the difference in achieving clear and glowing skin. Do you have a favorite toner that you swear by? Let me know in the comments!
